Willy Newtonius brings his one-man musical project to St. Petersburg for an October 24 performance at the Neurodivergent Empowerment Institute.
TAMPA, FL / ACCESS Newswire / October 12, 2026 / Imagine stepping onto a stage without a backing band and building an entire musical composition using nothing but your own voice.
For experimental musician Willy Newtonius, that concept is the foundation of Thee Agro Cadaver, a solo performance project that explores the creative possibilities of live vocal looping, original composition, and a cappella experimentation.
On Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 PM, Newtonius will bring Thee Agro Cadaver to the Neurodivergent Empowerment Institute (NEI) in St. Petersburg for Beyond the Loop, an evening of experimental music and unconventional artistic expression.
The Art of Becoming Your Own Band
Live looping allows performers to capture sounds and repeat them in real time, gradually combining individual elements into layered arrangements.
For vocal artists, the technique transforms the human voice into a remarkably versatile musical instrument. Percussive sounds can become rhythms, vocal harmonies can become musical foundations, and improvised elements can create evolving arrangements.
The result challenges the conventional distinction between singer, instrumentalist, composer, and producer.
Newtonius describes Thee Agro Cadaver as his first one-man-band project, characterized by experimental a cappella looping and influences ranging from hip-hop to contemporary vocal harmony.
His artistic background extends well beyond a single genre.
Across previous musical projects, including bands such as Crotch Rockets, Fat Aggression, McFeely’s, and Worker & Parasite, Newtonius has participated in a diverse body of recorded and live music. His broader creative work includes songwriting, recording, collaborative performance, and multimedia storytelling.
What Makes an Artist Unconventional?
Thee Agro Cadaver presents an opportunity to explore a question that reaches beyond music: Why do audiences expect creativity to follow established categories?
Independent artists increasingly have access to tools that allow them to develop performances without traditional ensembles or production structures. Live looping offers an especially compelling example of how technology can expand an individual performer’s expressive range.
Rather than replacing creativity, the technology becomes an extension of the artist’s imagination.
The project also challenges assumptions about artistic identity. A musician need not commit to a single genre, format, or established definition of performance to develop an authentic creative voice.
These questions make Newtonius an intriguing interview subject for conversations about music, artistic experimentation, creative independence, and the evolution of live performance.
A St. Petersburg Performance
The October 24 event will be hosted by the Neurodivergent Empowerment Institute, which incorporates creative expression and community programming into its broader mission of supporting individuality, empowerment, and belonging.
The performance offers Tampa Bay audiences an opportunity to encounter experimental vocal music in an intimate, community-centered setting.
