“Bold infrastructure investments are how we meet today’s affordability challenges while preparing for the energy needs of tomorrow,” said José Antonio Miranda, Avangrid CEO. “Forums like the USHCC Energy Summit are critical to aligning priorities, sharing perspectives, and ensuring the energy U.S. future delivers real savings, reliability, and opportunity for the communities we serve.”
Billed as “Powering the Future of America’s Energy Economy,” the Energy Summit convened energy leaders, policymakers, regulators, and Hispanic and small business owners to discuss the future of U.S. energy policy and investment. The event focused on equitable energy solutions, energy affordability, grid reliability, and expanding opportunities for Hispanic-owned businesses across the energy supply chain.
Miranda participated in a mainstage panel titled “Energy Affordability Is Economic Mobility,” a solution-focused conversation on managing energy costs and supporting economic mobility, entrepreneurship, and community development as core components of a strong energy future.
Miranda emphasized how Avangrid’s long-term investments and bold infrastructure projects have strengthened energy affordability and reliability for millions of working families and businesses. Avangrid’s portfolio of more than 11 GW power generation projects has driven local economic development across the communities it serves, engaging with local suppliers, creating jobs, and contributing to regional growth.
Avangrid’s projects, the New England Clean Energy Connect and Vineyard Wind 1, are projected to save Massachusetts homes and businesses more than $6 billion on their energy bills over time by delivering reliable, large‑scale energy to the region. For Massachusetts’ large and growing Hispanic population, which has faced disproportionate energy cost burdens, Avangrid’s projects advance affordability, strengthen grid reliability, and support long-term economic development.
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce champions the growth and success of America’s small businesses, with their mission focused on the more than 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses that contribute over $800 billion to the U.S. economy each year. The Chamber advocates for a network of more than 260 local chambers and business associations and partners with over 100 major American corporations to empower and support small businesses nationwide.
